Who we are

Hi, we're Wendy and Casey, a mother and daughter who spend our days making things out of clay.

Before this, we were both art teachers. While we loved sharing creativity with our students, we found ourselves becoming increasingly frustrated with the growing demands and pressures of the education system. Over time, there was less room for the parts of teaching we cared about most—making, experimenting, and inspiring creativity. Eventually, we decided it was time for a change and chose to put our energy into creating our own art and building a life around the things we love to make.

Most of what we create begins with something that makes us laugh, smile, or simply feels a bit silly. We don't take ourselves too seriously, and our work reflects that. We love quirky characters, odd little creatures, and pieces that have a bit of personality.

Working together as mother and daughter means there's always someone to bounce ideas off, help solve problems, or tell you when an idea is completely ridiculous (although we usually make it anyway).

We're glad you've found your way here and hope our creations bring a smile to your face, just as they do to ours.

Wendy

I've been working with clay for over 30 years, and I still love the endless possibilities it offers. What started as a creative interest gradually grew into a lifelong passion that has taken me through decades of making, teaching, experimenting, and learning.

Alongside ceramics, I also enjoy watercolour painting. Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world, and I particularly love painting animals, especially birds.

Creating has always been a big part of who I am, and I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days doing something I genuinely love. For me, making art has always been about creating things that bring a bit of joy to everyday life. If something I've made makes someone smile, then I consider that a success.

Casey

I've been making art for as long as I can remember. Growing up with Wendy as my mum meant there was always clay on the table, paintbrushes within reach, and plenty of encouragement to get creative. Some of my earliest memories are of making things alongside her, and that love of creating has stayed with me ever since.

Ceramics is where I feel most at home, and I love the process of turning a lump of clay into something full of character and personality. I'm especially drawn to creating quirky pieces that make people laugh, smile, or do a double take.

Alongside working with clay, I also enjoy digital art. It's a great way to explore ideas, sketch out designs, and bring some of the strange little characters living in my imagination to life before they make their way into the real world.

Our Studio

Our studio is nestled just minutes from beautiful Lake Eppalock, surrounded by native bushland and local wildlife. One of our favourite parts of the day is looking out the windows and enjoying the ever-changing view while we work.

We try to tread lightly where we can, using a kiln powered by energy generated from our solar panels and relying on rainwater collected in tanks around the property.

If you visited our studio, you might describe it as a little chaotic, a little messy, and always busy. We prefer to think of it as creative! There are usually several projects happening at once, with clay drying, pieces being glazed, and new ideas constantly taking shape.

We're also lucky to have a team of furry assistants: Alan, Poe, Hazel, and Pippin. Their daily duties include quality-testing the water in any unattended bucket, supervising studio activities, and making sure nothing is ever balanced too precariously. They take their jobs very seriously.

We wouldn't have our studio any other way. Between the endless ideas, the occasional kiln surprise, and our furry quality-control team, our studio is a wonderfully imperfect place to create. We hope a little bit of that joy, humour, and handmade charm finds its way into every piece we make and into the homes of the people who welcome them.
